Levels of Breakdown Cover
Breakdown cover can usually broken down into four major levels of service, ranging from an entry level or standard package, all the way up to a fully comprehensive service that offers to cover almost any eventuality. In general, the different levels comprise of the following features:
Level 1
Will attempt to fix problems at roadside and recover car to the nearest garage if necessary.
Level 2
As Level 1, but will offer recovery of up to 8 passengers to any destination in UK.
Level 3
As Level 2, but will also fix vehicles at the home address.
Level 4
As Level 3, but will also arrange onward travel to your destination.
When comparing breakdown packages from different companies, it is important to note which elements are included as standard, and which must be added on at an additional price. There is also an additional style of breakdown policy to cover you whilst you travel abroad in Europe. These policies may be included in your UK breakdown policy or they may simply run for the duration of your trip, depending on the company.
