Also known as Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC).

An advanced traction control system that works to achieve optimum levels of grip. The system's computer monitors each wheel, enabling it to apply the brakes to ensure the car stays on course or to reduce the amount of power developed by the engine.

Vehicle manufacturers use electronic stability control systems under different marketing names; for example:

  • Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)
    BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mazda, MINI Cooper and Rover.
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
    Hyundai and Honda.
  • Electronic Stability Programme (ESP)
