Car Alarms Great Yarmouth

A car alarm will detect if anyone gets into your car or tries to move it whilst the alarm is armed. Not only will it alert other people if someone does try to steal your car, but it will also usually have a flashing LED to alert the car thief to the presence of the alarm, which should put them off trying to steal the car in the first place.

Car Alarms

A car alarm will detect if anyone gets into your car or tries to move it whilst the alarm is armed. Not only will it alert other people if someone does try to steal your car, but it will also usually have a flashing LED to alert the car thief to the presence of the alarm, which should put them off trying to steal the car in the first place.

Car alarms may detect intrusion in a number of ways, including:

  • Opening the door
  • Impact to the vehicle
  • Tilting of the car
  • Ignition key turning
  • Motion within (or sometimes even close to) the car

Models may have varying amounts of sensors and functions, and may react in different ways to particular situations. For example, some models may simply trigger the lights if it senses an impact to the car, but may then activate the full siren if the car is broken into. There are models that include a dual-zone sensor, which will emit a warning 'chirp' if anyone peers too closely through the windows.

Top of the range alarms may also incorporate other functions, such as locking the doors automatically as soon as you start the car, and may be programmed so that the key fob can be used to remotely to turn various items on; for example, the headlights as you approach the car, the engine (useful on a frosty morning) or even your heated car seats.
